Prompted by the assassination of sitting Haitian President Jovenel Moïse on July 7th, we dove deep into the colonial history of Haiti, from its successful slave rebellion in 1791 to Canada’s role in the 2004 coup d’etat that brought down President Jean-Bertrand Aristide.
